5.0 out of 5 stars Free and Clear Dish Pacs, November 22, 2010

I have used the Seventh Generation Dish Pacs for 18 months now. My dishwasher always leaves loose powder in the detergent cup so it is necessary for me to use pacs to prevent this. I have been very happy with the cleanliness of my dishes and there is never a residue left behind.

The original version of these dish pacs were packaged in a cardboard box. I was disappointed to see that the packaging had been changed to plastic and I contacted Seventh Generation to express my disappointment. To my surprise they responded with the following:

We appreciate your concern for the impacts of the products you purchase. I do want to be clear that the pouch we are using can be recycled. It can be recycled at most grocery stores, at the front of the store many places have recycling for the plastic bags and the pouch can be added to this.

Another important note, the cardboard we did use for the pacs was not recyclable. There was a small amount of clay in the cardboard... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Cleans cloudy dishes...and your dishwasher, too!, February 6, 2011

This gets glass dishes clean and crystal-clear! It doesn't leave white residue.

About a year ago some new law passed that required most dishwasher soap companies to change their formulas. In our home we use a lot of glass (because we don't like having our food come into contact with plastics), so all of our dishes started getting cloudy. I tried to hand-wash them, but it was pretty hard to remove the residue. They didn't look very clean.

The problem kept getting worse until we switched to Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwasher pacs. Seriously, the first time I used one of these, all of our plates and bowls and glasses came out clear again! It was amazing. Half of our plates (the ones in the cupboard) were dull and cloudy from the Cascade automatic dishwasher packs, and the other half were beautiful and clear from these Seventh Generation automatic dishwasher pacs. It was such an incredible contrast that we will definitely never go back to the other... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Reall Works!, June 11, 2011

I was skeptical, but hopeful, that this product would work better than the other dishwasher detergents we've tried (Cascade powder, Seventh Generation Gel) and boy howdy, it sure does. We have hard water, and the previous detergents, even with the rinse agent, left our glassware less than clear. After a just a couple of loads, everything came out clean, and the glasses were clear. Really clear. I couldn't believe it. I feel like one of those housewives in an old TV commercial. Our dishes and glasses are coming our clean and sparkling! Plus...no phosphates and good for the environment! (Smiles at the camera) Going to check into Seventh Generation's rinse agent now, cause these detergent packs are great.
