This review is from: Giannini GWSCRA6 EL Handcrafted Series Steel Craviola® Guitar (Acoustic-Electric, 6-String) (Electronics)
The first time I saw a Craviola was on a PBS fundraiser on TV. They were featuring artists and songs from the 70's, and the leader of the group "Starland Vocal Band" was using it on their song " Afternoon Delight". I was curious about the guitar he was playing so I started researching it. It took quite a while, but stumbled on the name & origins of the Giannini Craviola from Brazil. Every review was positive and mentioned the fact that the Craviola's unique shape definitely drew a lot of attention from the audience and musicians alike. When the price dropped to closeout prices on Amazon, I decided I couldn't pass up the opportuniy to try one out. What a shocker, the sound is extremely pleasant and the shape allows one to play it comfortable while sitting without a strap. I decided this would be my go to acoustic when performing. It has not let me down. The sound is bright with just enough bass. The setup was good and did not require any adjustment on arrival. If you're like me,... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Brizilian Guitar!, March 28, 2011

First off, if you have not heard this guitar being played, go to youtube where you can see and hear for yourself how great this piece is. The Guannini Caviols guitar is a beautiful and unique pieces. It offers comfortable playing and a brilliant clear sound from it's all wood body. The Craviola comes with solid Sitka Spruce top, Pau-Ferro/Morado back and sides. Pau-Ferro/Morado also known as Caviuna, Bolivian Rosewood, or Palo Santos, is a Rosewood-like wood. In appearance it's much like Indian Rosewood.
Giannini use to be a well known guitar here in the US years ago, but disappeared. I am glad to see it's return. If you get the chance to get one of these beauties, do it, you won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Is each one different?, July 15, 2010

The first one they sent me was defective but the replacement works fine. I got it on sale for $280 which was a great deal. The day I received it they jacked the price up to $420. Like the defective one, it makes a rattling sound when you shake it. It is my first acoustic/electric so I dont know if that is normal. I was worried by the fact that the first one and the replacement are a little different. Firstly, the tunning pegs are different. Secondly, the first one had the name in cursive on the front of the headstock and the replacement has a brass nameplate on the back of the headstock...why on the back?...that makes no sense. Neither one had the pick guard shown in the picture. It seems a little unprofessional to have a picture that does not accurately describe the product.
