It is rare that I fulfill my 'civic' Amazon duty and submit an actual extended, written review, but this case is exceptional. The pictures and description of this item are misleading, and the absurd price makes the whole affair a genuine ripoff. This item is very cheaply made, and incapable of producing a spark which will light ANYTHING. The sparking electrode is manufactured unsecured, to just flop around inside the aluminum rod -- this is a design (or lack thereof) element and not a single case of fault. I would urge Amazon to remove this item and report the manufacturer as a fraud. As my uncle once said of a badminton set which broke upon the first attempt to erect the net: "Whoeva serr dis, mus' stirr be rraughing!"

The product might be good for science classes but not reliable for gas stoves. The build quality seems to be very solid but the tip where it creates the electric spark has a tendency to lean towards one side. When this happens, it doesn't create enough of a spark to light the stove. As a result, I find myself constantly adjusting the tip so that it's centered. After four months of use, the tip is almost completely leaning to one side and I have to put a piece of toothpick to make sure the tip is centered.
