Product Description

Dramatic lighting for your home. The Outreach Arc Lamp is a gigantic arc lamp that is finished in Satin Steel with a 15" round black marble base. A oversized white acrylic dome shade that adjusts independently is suspended from an adjustable balance arm and will bring light right where you need it most. The Outreach Arc Lamp features an on/off foot step switch and uses one 150 watt bulb. This Arc Lamp stands 64" to 90" in height and has a maximum depth of 75". The shade is 8" in height and has a 15" diameter.

This is a well made and well designed lamp. It is aesthetically pleasing. It is very large, a fact that I had not fully comprehended when I read the product description. Luckily we have a loft so it actually works very well but if you have a small apt or other living space, be aware that the arc spans out quite a ways. The product is made of good quality materials and looks like it will last a while.

Lamp was relatively easy to assemble. Had to coax the wires a bit during assembly but finally got it together. The lamp looks fantastic, balance is good, though i'm not sure it will hold a high arc. The drawbacks are that it has a plastic (acryllic) dome that is pretty cheap and flimsy looking, though it looks great when the lamp is on, and I wish it had a switch at the bulb as well as the foot pedal. It would be nice to be sitting in a chair under this and be able to turn it on without having to get out of the chair. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. So far I'm really happy with it. It also doesn't have felt pads for the base. The base is just a slab of marble, so purchase some felt pads if you have hard floors.

Perfect for over small dining room table in a room with no overhead lighting. Marble base is heavy, lamp is generally sturdy. Adjustable in height. Assembly best with two people, as the lamp is large and aligning all the parts would be diffcult otherwise.

Bought a couple of the table lamps for my bedroom. The lamps were easy to put together. Didn't realize that they didn't come with bulbs, but not a big deal. They look great and light up the room very well in the evening.

I was looking for an economical functional floor lamp. This lamp fits the requirements. The style is simple and functional. Many other floor lamps I looked at only allowed one 150 watt bulb. My experience with those was poor. They lit up the ceiling well, but they just weren't bright enough to illuminate the rest of the room. This one takes two 150 watt conventional bulbs, so it is very bright.

The dimmer switch has two settings, full power or half-power. You can NOT adjust it to in-between levels.

I'm using it with compact spiral fluorescent bulbs instead of normal bulbs. (None of the fluorescent bulbs i've seen are compatible with dimmers. They all require full power. I just never use the half-way mark on the light switch. I've had the lamp with CFL bulbs for several months and have not had any problems.)

This lamp does not qualify as fine furniture. It is not going to elicit comments like "ooh, what a lovely lamp". It just lights up the... Read more

This lamp is a good height, with a metal body and a heavy metal base. It accepts two standard light bulbs (I use CFL's to be kind to the earth and they work great) so if you are looking for a halogen lamp, this is not the lamp you are looking for. The white diffuser at the top is cheap-feeling and made out of plastic, but looks good from a distance. And if your guests are feeling the diffusers of your lamps you probably have other issues to worry about.
Overall I would definitely recommend the lamp. It is a good value, nice looking, and performs well.

Note: I ordered two lamps, but initially only received one. As always, Amazon customer service was great, and I had a replacement lamp free of charge within a week or two.

Adesso makes great budget lamps, and I was really please to find a decent replacement for the halogen torchieres. The lamp is fine, considering it is the bottom of the price range.
However, it arrived in a box that had been opened and resealed, evidently returned previously, and the aluminum threads were not in the greatest shape. Therefore the sections didn't screw into each other all the way. If this was going to be in a more visible area and I had more time, I would have returned it.
